alas, the book is sent to print!

I have been talking about this forever, and I mean, FOREVER!

I am just so relieved that I have finally completed our first travel book! To be exact, this is our first printed travel book, we have other travel books – scrapbooking method.

I named this Mike & Lis Footprints 2008, I think I am going to stick with that for a bit, I am not very creative with titles. Paw prints? Horsey prints? finger prints? I’ll just go with the footprints.

I had considered printing with softcover, but Mike suggested to print with hardcover, and I never exactly like hardcover with jacket, the jacket always get crumpled or fall out to place. I went ahead with the imagewrap. The good thing about imagewrap is that it’s matt. I printed my wedding book with imagewrap too.

It’s a lot of fun compiling and arranging your own photo book, just the way you like it. This is my first travel book, so I am kind to myself, more over, since we are printing for ourselves, it would be perfect no matter the outcome.

It’s a whopping 158 pages travel book, the pages would have been more if I hadn’t shrunk down most of the photos, which restrained me from using the full page or full bleed layout for some photos. I have to layout several photos in smaller prints in a page, which is fine by me too. I referred to my wedding book, and the smaller photos are actually very clear.

Now, I just need to patiently wait for the book to be printed and shipped to me.

Whenever I can afford time, I would start to with the 2009 travel book as we walk through the year, now that I have hands-on experience with travel book printing, I would know what to look out for when taking photos while traveling. =)
