get the best hotel deal for your honeymoon and anniversary trip

My wedding preparation was nothing but heaps of fun, if I hadn’t repeated that too many times already.

If you have read my actual day wedding post, you would know that we ran off right after the lunch reception, and flew out of the country!

I had very short wedding preparation time, and I was just starting up my crafting business at the same time. 2 years from the wedding, I still wouldn’t change a thing about my wedding, I would however, wish that I knew hotelscombined back then.

It wasn’t that easy to arrange for the honeymoon while I busied myself with a tons of stuffs! Wouldn’t it be so wonderful to have a single search facility that fetches all the hotel deals, and compare the prices in one glance, filter out your preferences, and make a decision? There is such a search engine!

I am finally able to try the service out. I tried out the search, and it’s extremely easy to use, as the interface is very user friendly. The search result is derived from the various very popular hotel reservation sites, and how wonderful to be able to browse through my options in a glance!

I could select to view the prices in my own currency, filter price range, narrow down to star rating, and even search by hotel name, if I already have some recommendations from friends.

We prefer to plan our travel itinerary on our own. We book our own airfare, and hotel accommodation. The freedom to choose provides a great deal of involvement and joy in the trip planning.

You may not have a clamped up wedding schedule like I did, but I am sure, you would enjoy the convenience of searching for hotel deals in one single place – hotelscombined.

trial make-up and hair styling

Almost throughout the wedding preparation, I had really quite many slots of relaxing time.

This had been so until yesterday! Today has been super duper busy. Oops, why then am I still blogging away here? hahaha

So luggage is almost packed up, I did a trial makeup and hairstyling earlier. The dress is really ‘breath-taking’ as in.. suffocatingly tight!!! Ok.. I didn’t keep a strict diet.

Most things are set, YEAH!!!! going to quickly finish up some other things and packing, then I can start my nail painting. (can only do this last, so that my hands are still free to work on stuffs)

Can you sense that I was really keeping my breath still?

positivity over negativity

Tomorrow is my last day holding to the marital status as ‘single’. I guess at the point when I was preparing for the wedding, I had decided to enjoy and have fun planning this event. True enough, I have fun and still having fun!

It’s an easy decision, but some people may require more mind strength to follow through this decision.

Yesterday, I received another order from Etsy store, from a local buyer, and I really hoped to send out the order before I leave for my honeymoon. My personality type makes me someone who takes things upon myself, and make sure I follow through what I started. If I send out the order today, she will receive it tomorrow or latest the day after tomorrow, and I would feel alot at ease that the transaction is completed.

I was so tired yesterday, woke up at 7am, as we had appointment at ROM to collect the solemnisation documents. Then the whole day through we went to quite a few places, and collected the dress in the evening. Yet, when I reached home, despite my watery tired eyes nagging me to rest, I insisted to work on the order first.

Since most of my customers are from USA, it takes longer for the package to reach them, so that is what I am more concerned with. I made an order tracking list which I would check with them when the estimated shipping time is met.

Today was a really fantastic day! All my outstanding orders sent out to USA, were received by buyers, and they gave wonderfully nice feedback in my store. That really made my day!

I completed the direction signboards which we will place at the carparks to the venue, so that guests will find their way. Prisia, our dress designer made the veil as per my requirement, and gave me the balance strip of diamonte. I only need to secure it on the barrette (for easy clip on) and sewn the diamonte strip on the veil. Quite satisfied with the finished piece though.

As I was still riding on the joy of the positive things that happened today, I heard over the radio that BKK had 2 small blasts, though no one was hurt. Hmm. I am not sure if I should be really worried about that.

I am still in the wave of thrill, excitement, and anticipation for wedding and trip, coupled with the positive feelings I have today from my business. It’s hard to drive these positive emotions out and get the negative news in. I guess it could be a subconscious decision too, to be aware of the situation of the destination we are about to visit, yet not be overly affected by it.

Oh, one more thing.. My dress turned out to be a little tad too ‘body hugging’, I may run short of breath on my wedding, anyone wants to bring the oxygen tank for me? Hahaha. Guess most brides are likely to be very affected if their gowns are to be not as ideally made for the big day. I am really not so concerned. I must have put on weight over the last few days, as I ate quite freely. Pris has been really nice (most of the vendors I engaged to do up my wedding have been amazingly wonderful, or was it my imagination??), so I am not going to point an accusing finger at her about the tightness of the dress for my undisciplined eating.

I made 3 lovely magnets with the butterflies print and presented to her instead. She has been really attentive and thoughtful and I just wanted to show my appreciation for her effort.

What I am going to try to do, is to go on high fibre and oats diet over these 2 days, and not missign out on the nutrition I need. If I don’t look like a happy white dumpling bride on Thursday, I probably managed to shrink my bodymass enough to look fine. If I act cute the entire event, you know that I am trying to match my behavior with my super chubby image. LOL.

End of the day, all I could wish for is not a perfectly smooth sailing event, but a fun and joyous one. So to speak, whether or not, I can look my best or beautiful bride, I know I am going to have fun!!!

probably the laziest bride-to-be

Just 4 more days to go before my big day, looking back on the preparation, I realised I am probably the laziest bride-to-be (on the part of making myself look best for the wedding).

I spent a great deal of time researching for venue, florist, dress, solemnizer, photographer, and made quick (but never hasty!) decision to finalise with the respective service providers. I then spent another large portion of time designing and creating the artwork for my invitation card, favors, thank you note, direction slips, envelope addressing, guestbook, ang pow box etc etc.

The other routine is to login to the bridal forum to meet many brides-to-be. Nice experiences and resources sharing. There are really useful information available there, with real people experiences. I made quite a handful of friends there, whom I would love to continue to progress friendship from there.

Instead of spending time to make sure I start on my exercise regime, the hellish type (Mike’s got me the gym ball, stretching band (what do you call that??), and a nice pair of sports shoes) or the most relaxing one (I’ve got a good collection of OTO and Osim exercise equipments at home, need not do much, just stand on it, or put the belt on), I spent that time thinking about some nagging nitty gritty matter that nudged me a long while.

Moving on, I have not done any facial or even attempted to in making myself look better for the big day. I am trying to deligently put on the facial masks (only started last night.. oops) and hoping that helps.

I didn’t even visit my hair designer to color and treat my hair. I DIY! Really quite resistant to spend several hours in the salon. What did I do with the time? I took up a wholesale assignment with Alaska shop and mailed out the order so that it could reach them before their shop opens in mid February. I continued to visit Pandora’s box to touch up the space I rented, I continued to sell in Etsy and mailing the orders.

If time were to turn back all over again, I am certain I am going to do just the same things over again.. hahaha..

diy = simply packed with lots of sincerity

Now that my wedding date is drawing near, it’s time to get busy with the outstanding tasks.

I went for wedding shopping yesterday. Bought quite many things, mainly for the Ang Pow box and favors basket decorations. I am not any different from any girls, when we shop for some particular stuffs, we would probably ‘remember’ to pick up some other items that were not in the shopping list.

I went to Plaza Singapura in the noon, and spent almost 2.5hrs in Spotlight. I’d gotten the necessary crafts and decorative materials, as well as what’re outside the shopping list. I bought some fabric materials to make some ponytail holders, and some really cool and nice printed papers.

I felt being stalked in my 2.5hrs shopping in Spotlight. There was this guy who seemed to appear too often beside me wherever I went! I thought he was looking out for me, when he lost sight of me when I bent down to look at the textile materials on the lower deck of the display. When I stood up and looked at him, he would looked a little ‘shocked’ and ‘panic’, and pretended to look at the items around him.

Perhaps he though I had great quality sense, and following me around to see what else I was picking up? That, I was not so sure, but I was certain of was that it was kind of creepy when everywhere you went, you could see someone at the corner of your eye!

An episode in my shopping experience to make this shopping trip an interesting one eh?

I bought many more things in Watson. Some travel size groceries for my upcoming trip. I am going to DIY hair color today, with the new hair color I’d got from Watson, errr. Purplish Red! LOL…

Got the nail polish from Sally Hansen too, shall apply it 2 days before wedding.

I’d decorated the handles of the favors basket with some fake flowers which I found at Daiso, pretty nice finds there. Got the fake rose buds from Spotlight crafts section to decorate the ang pow box. It’s pretty fun doing up stuffs like that. The balance flowers, leaves and ribbons are used in making the handmade plate which we hang above the bed. I like that very much though.
